[Screenshot: Giving Settings page overview]

Configure Giving Options

Enable Online Giving

Toggle Enable Online Giving to allow members to donate through your church's giving page. When disabled, the giving page will show a message that online giving is not available.

Payment Methods

Choose which payment methods to accept:

  • Credit/Debit Cards: Visa, Mastercard, American Express, Discover
  • ACH Bank Transfer: Direct bank account payments (lower fees)
Tip: ACH transfers typically have lower processing fees than credit cards. Encourage regular givers to use bank transfers for recurring donations.

Transaction Fees

Decide how to handle processing fees:

  • Church Absorbs Fees: The church pays all processing fees
  • Offer Fee Coverage: Give donors the option to cover fees (many will choose to)
[Screenshot: Fee coverage option toggle]

Default Fund

Set a default giving fund (e.g., "General Fund", "Tithes & Offerings") that will be pre-selected when members give. You can create additional funds in the Causes & Campaigns section.

Giving Page Customization

Customize how your giving page appears to donors:

  • Add a custom welcome message
  • Upload a background image
  • Set suggested giving amounts (e.g., $25, $50, $100, $250)
  • Enable/disable anonymous giving

Testing Your Setup

Before promoting online giving to your congregation:

  1. Make a small test donation ($1-5) using your own card
  2. Verify the transaction appears in your Giving dashboard
  3. Check that the donor receives a confirmation email
  4. Refund the test donation if needed

Managing Recurring Gifts

Set up, modify, and manage recurring donations.

Viewing Recurring Gifts

To see all active recurring gifts:

1
Navigate to Giving

Go to Giving from the main navigation menu.

2
Select Recurring Gifts Tab

Click the Recurring tab to view all scheduled recurring donations.

[Screenshot: Admin recurring gifts list with status, amount, and next charge date]

Recurring Gift Details

For each recurring gift, you can see:

  • Donor name and email
  • Amount and frequency
  • Payment method (last 4 digits)
  • Next scheduled charge date
  • Status (Active, Paused, Cancelled, Failed)

Managing Member Recurring Gifts

As an admin, you can assist members with their recurring gifts:

Cancel a Recurring Gift

Click the recurring gift, then select Cancel. The member will be notified by email.

Note: Admins can cancel recurring gifts, but cannot modify amounts or payment methods on behalf of members due to payment security requirements. Direct the member to update their own recurring gift.

Failed Recurring Gifts

When a recurring gift fails (expired card, insufficient funds), the system will:

  1. Automatically retry the charge after 3 days
  2. Send the member an email notification
  3. Mark the gift as "Failed" after 3 unsuccessful attempts

You can see failed gifts in the Recurring tab filtered by status.

Recurring Gift Reports

Export recurring gift data for analysis:

  • Total recurring revenue (monthly projection)
  • Active vs. cancelled recurring gifts
  • Retention rate over time

Causes & Campaigns Admin

Create giving campaigns with goals and track progress for special causes.

Understanding Causes

Causes (also called Funds or Campaigns) allow donors to designate their gift for a specific purpose:

  • General Fund: Tithes, offerings, and general operating expenses
  • Building Fund: Facility improvements or new construction
  • Missions: Support for missionaries and outreach
  • Benevolence: Helping those in need
  • Special Projects: One-time campaigns with specific goals

Creating a New Cause

Navigate to Giving Settings

Go to Giving > Causes or Settings > Giving > Causes.

2
Click Create New Cause

Click the + New Cause button to open the creation form.

[Screenshot: New cause creation form]
3
Configure Cause Details

Fill in the cause information:

  • Name: Clear, descriptive name (e.g., "Youth Camp Scholarships")
  • Description: Explain what funds will be used for
  • Goal Amount: (Optional) Set a fundraising target
  • End Date: (Optional) For time-limited campaigns
  • Image: Add a visual to make the cause compelling
4
Set Visibility

Choose whether the cause appears on the public giving page or is only available for internal tracking.

5
Save and Publish

Save the cause. It will now appear as a giving option for donors.

Campaign Progress Tracking

For causes with goals, track progress in real-time:

[Screenshot: Campaign progress bar showing amount raised vs. goal]
  • Visual progress bar shows percentage of goal reached
  • Total amount raised updates automatically
  • Number of donors displayed
  • Days remaining (for time-limited campaigns)

Sharing Campaigns

Promote your campaign:

  • Embed a giving widget on your church website
  • Display the QR code in your bulletin or on screen

Managing Causes

Edit a Cause

Click on any cause to edit its details, update the goal, or modify the description.

Close a Campaign

When a time-limited campaign ends:

  1. Navigate to the cause
  2. Click Close Campaign
  3. The cause will no longer accept new donations
  4. Historical giving data is preserved

Archive a Cause

For causes no longer needed, archive them to hide from the giving page while preserving all transaction history.

Best Practice: Create compelling campaign descriptions that explain the impact of donations. Include specific details like "Your gift of $50 provides a week of meals for a family in need."
