Directory Overview

Navigate the directory, view metrics, and find members quickly.

Accessing the Directory

Navigate to Directory

Click Directory in the main navigation menu to access the full member directory.

Dashboard Metrics

The collapsible dashboard at the top shows key metrics:

  • Total Members: Active member count
  • New This Month: Members who joined recently
  • Active Givers: Members who have given this year
  • Pending Invitations: Invitations awaiting response
Tip: Click the arrow icon to collapse or expand the dashboard metrics, giving you more screen space for the member list.

Search and Filter

Quick Search

Type in the search box to find members by name, email, or phone number.

Advanced Filters

Click Filters to narrow your view:

  • Role: Admin, Moderator, or Member
  • Status: Active, Inactive, Pending
  • Groups: Members of specific groups
  • Tags: Custom tags you've applied
  • Joined Date: Filter by join date range

Directory Views

Toggle between view modes:

  • Card View: Visual cards with photos
  • List View: Compact table format

Bulk Actions

Select multiple members to:

  • Add to a group
  • Send an email
  • Apply tags
  • Export to CSV

Viewing the Directory

Access the Directory

Click Directory in the menu to browse church members (if enabled by your church).

What You Can See

Depending on your church's privacy settings, you may see:

  • Member names and photos
  • Contact information (if shared)
  • Family connections
  • Groups they belong to
Privacy

Each member controls what information is visible to others. You can update your own privacy settings in your profile.

Finding Members

Use the search bar to find members by name. You can also browse alphabetically or by group.

Contacting Members

Click on a member to view their profile. If they've shared contact information, you can:

  • Send an email
  • View their phone number
  • See their address

Add members, send invitations, and manage member information.

Adding a New Member

Click Add Member

From the Directory, click + Add Member.

Enter Information

Fill in the member's details: name, email, phone, address, and any custom fields.

Set Role

Assign a role: Member (default), Moderator, or Administrator.

Save

Click Save to add the member to your directory.

Sending Invitations

Invite people to create their own accounts:

Click Invite

Click Invite Members or use the invite option when adding a member.

Enter Email(s)

Enter one or more email addresses. You can paste a list of emails separated by commas.

Send Invitation

Click Send. Invitees receive an email with a link to create their account.

Tip: Check the Pending Invitations tab to see who hasn't accepted yet. You can resend invitations if needed.

Family Connections

Link family members together:

Open Member Profile

Click on a member to view their profile.

Go to Family Tab

Click the Family tab.

Add Family Member

Click Add Family Member and select the relationship (Spouse, Child, Parent, etc.).

Editing Profiles

Update any member's information:

  1. Click on the member in the directory
  2. Click Edit
  3. Make your changes
  4. Click Save

Prayer Requests

Submit, manage, and respond to prayer requests.

Managing Prayer Requests

View All Requests

Go to Directory > Prayer Requests to see all submitted requests.

Request Status

Prayer requests have the following statuses:

  • Pending: Awaiting review/approval
  • Active: Published and visible
  • Answered: Marked as answered
  • Archived: No longer active

Approving Requests

If moderation is enabled, review pending requests:

Review Request

Click on a pending request to read the full content.

Approve or Edit

Click Approve to publish, or edit the request first if needed.

Privacy Settings

Configure prayer request visibility in Settings:

  • Allow anonymous submissions
  • Require moderation before publishing
  • Limit visibility to specific groups
  • Set auto-archive duration

Submitting a Prayer Request

Go to Prayer Requests

Navigate to Prayer Requests from the menu or your dashboard.

Click Submit Request

Click the + Submit Request button.

Enter Your Request

Write your prayer request. Be as detailed or brief as you're comfortable with.

Set Privacy

Choose visibility options:

  • Public: Visible to all church members
  • Groups Only: Visible to your groups
  • Leadership Only: Only pastors/admins can see
  • Anonymous: Your name is hidden

Submit

Click Submit. Your request may be published immediately or require approval.

Viewing Prayer Requests

Browse requests from your congregation:

  • See active prayer requests
  • Click "Praying" to show support
  • Add comments or encouragement
  • View answered prayers to celebrate

Managing Your Requests

Update your own prayer requests:

  • Edit: Update the request text
  • Mark Answered: Celebrate when God answers
  • Delete: Remove your request

Importing Members Admin

Import member data from CSV files and other church management platforms.

Preparing Your Data

Before importing, prepare your member data:

Required Fields

  • First Name
  • Last Name
  • Email (recommended for invitations)

Optional Fields

  • Phone Number
  • Address, City, State, ZIP
  • Birthday
  • Anniversary
  • Family ID (for linking families)
Tip: Download our CSV template to ensure your data is formatted correctly.

Importing from CSV

Access Import Tool

Go to Directory > Import or Settings > Import.

Upload CSV File

Click Upload CSV and select your file.

Map Fields

Match columns from your CSV to FaithfullyGiving fields. The system will attempt to auto-detect common column names.

Preview Import

Review the preview to ensure data looks correct. Check for any warnings or errors.

Import

Click Import to add members. Large imports may take a few minutes.

Important: Imported members will not automatically receive login credentials. Use the bulk invite feature to send invitations after importing.

Handling Duplicates

The system checks for duplicates based on email address:

  • Skip: Don't import if email already exists
  • Update: Update existing record with new data
  • Create New: Create a new record anyway

After Import

After importing:

  1. Review imported members in the directory
  2. Link family members if not done during import
  3. Send bulk invitations for members to create accounts
  4. Add members to appropriate groups
