Accessing Recording Studio

Navigate to Recording Studio

From your admin dashboard, go to Media > Recording Studio in the main navigation.

Device Setup

Select Audio Input

Click the microphone dropdown to select your audio input device. This could be your computer's built-in microphone, a USB microphone, or an audio interface.

Tip: For best quality, use an external microphone rather than your computer's built-in mic. Even an inexpensive USB microphone will significantly improve audio quality.

Select Video Input (Optional)

If you want to record video, select your camera from the video dropdown. You can record audio-only by leaving the video option disabled.

Test Your Setup

Speak into your microphone and watch the audio level indicator. Adjust your microphone position until you see healthy green levels without clipping into the red.

Recording Your Sermon

Start Recording

Click the red Record button to begin. A timer will show your recording duration.

Pause if Needed

Click Pause to temporarily stop recording. Click again to resume. This is useful for breaks or interruptions.

Stop Recording

Click Stop when finished. Your recording will be processed and ready to save.

Saving Your Recording

Add Recording Details

Enter a title for your recording (e.g., "Sunday Sermon - January 15, 2026"). Add optional details like speaker name, date, and scripture references.

Save to Media Library

Click Save to add the recording to your Media Library. From there, you can request transcription and generate AI content.

Recording Tips

  • Record in a quiet environment to minimize background noise
  • Position the microphone 6-12 inches from your mouth
  • Speak at a consistent volume throughout
  • Make a short test recording first to check audio quality
  • Keep your browser tab active during recording (don't switch to other tabs)

Convert your audio and video recordings to text with AI-powered transcription.

Understanding Transcription

FaithfullyGiving uses advanced AI to convert spoken words in your recordings to accurate text transcripts. Transcription enables:

  • Searchable sermon archives
  • Accessibility for hearing-impaired members
  • AI content generation (outlines, summaries, etc.)
  • Easy reference and quoting
Transcription Costs

Transcription costs $0.02 per minute of audio. A typical 30-minute sermon costs about $0.60 to transcribe.

Requesting Transcription

Open Your Recording

Navigate to Media and find the recording you want to transcribe.

Click Request Transcription

Click the Transcribe button to open the transcription options.

Select Language

Choose the primary language spoken in the recording:

  • English (US)
  • English (UK)
  • Spanish
  • Portuguese
  • French
  • German

Enable Speaker Diarization (Optional)

If multiple speakers are in the recording, enable speaker diarization to identify and label different voices.

Confirm and Submit

Review the estimated cost and click Start Transcription. Processing typically takes 2-5 minutes.

Viewing Transcripts

Once complete, access your transcript:

  1. Open the media item from your library
  2. Click the Transcript tab
  3. View, copy, or download the full text

Transcript Features

  • Timestamps: Click any section to jump to that point in the audio
  • Search: Find specific words or phrases in the transcript
  • Copy: Copy text to use in documents or emails
  • Download: Export as a text file or PDF
Tip: Transcripts are searchable across your entire media library. Use the search feature to find sermons that mention specific topics or scripture references.

AI Content Generation Admin

Generate outlines, summaries, study guides, and more from your sermon transcripts.

Prerequisite

AI content generation requires a transcript. Request transcription first before generating AI content.

Generating AI Content

Open Your Transcribed Media

Navigate to Media and select a recording that has been transcribed.

Click Generate AI Content

Click the AI Content or Generate button to open the content generation panel.

Select Content Types

Choose which types of content to generate. You can select one or multiple:

Outlines

Structured sermon outlines with main points and sub-points, perfect for sermon notes or bulletin inserts.

Summaries

Concise 2-3 paragraph summaries capturing the essence and key message of the sermon.

Detailed Notes

Comprehensive notes for deeper study, including context, explanations, and insights.

Study Guides

Complete study guides with background, discussion questions, and application activities for small groups.

Key Points

3-5 essential takeaways that members can remember and apply throughout the week.

Discussion Questions

Thought-provoking questions for small group discussions or personal reflection.

Scripture Index

All scripture references mentioned, organized and linked for easy reference.

Application Points

Practical ways to apply the sermon teachings in daily life with specific action steps.

Review Cost Estimate

See the estimated cost based on your selections. Each content type costs approximately $0.04 to generate.

Generate Content

Click Generate to start AI processing. Content is usually ready within 30-60 seconds.

Viewing and Using Generated Content

Access your generated content from the media item's Documents tab:

  • View: Read content directly in the browser
  • Copy: Copy to clipboard for use elsewhere
  • Download: Export as PDF or text file
  • Share: Make available to members through the app
Tip: Generate Study Guides and Discussion Questions to share with small group leaders. They can access these through the app or download PDFs for their group meetings.

Configure Recording Studio features, AI models, and cost controls for your church.

Accessing Settings

Navigate to Organization Settings

Go to Settings from the main navigation menu.

Select Recording Studio Tab

Click the Recording Studio tab to access recording and AI settings.

Enable/Disable Recording Studio

Toggle Enable Recording Studio to control whether the recording feature is available to your team. When disabled, the Recording Studio menu option will be hidden.

AI Model Selection

Choose which AI model to use for content generation:

GPT-4o Best quality, most accurate content generation Standard
GPT-4 Turbo Good balance of quality and speed Standard
Claude Excellent for theological content and nuance Standard

Monthly Cost Cap

Set a maximum monthly spending limit for AI features:

Set Budget Limit

Enter your desired monthly maximum (e.g., $25, $50, $100). When this limit is reached, transcription and AI generation will be paused until the next billing cycle.

Enable Notifications

Optionally receive email alerts when you reach 75% and 100% of your monthly cap.

Note: Setting a very low cap may prevent you from transcribing and generating content for all your sermons. A typical church with weekly sermons might use $5-10/month for transcription plus AI content.

Default Settings

Configure default options for new recordings:

  • Auto-transcribe: Automatically request transcription when recordings are saved
  • Default language: Pre-select the language for transcription
  • Default content types: Pre-check content types to generate

Usage Statistics

View your current month's usage:

  • Total transcription minutes used
  • Number of AI content generations
  • Total cost for the current month
  • Remaining budget if cap is set
